The Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce membership team visited four new Chamber members Wednesday, May 5.
Skill Builderz Pediatric Therapy, owned by Lisa Mitteness, is located at 1920 Turning Leaf Ln., Ste. 5 in Alexandria. Mitteness offers occupational therapy services to clients ranging in ages from newborn infants to 21-year-old young adults to help them develop functional skills and optimize participation in everyday activities.
Rantasha Services offers general, deep and specialty cleaning for residential clients. Owners Angela and Mark Rantasha collaborate with Cleaning for a Reason, which provides free cleaning services for cancer patients. The business is located at 324 Broadway St., Ste. 212. ....

A 53-unit multiple family apartment building is proposed in Alexandria.
At its meeting Monday night, the Alexandria City Council tabled issuing a conditional use permit to Meadow Homes, LLC, on the west side of North Nokomis/County Road 44 near the intersection with Green Lane, west of 12 existing townhomes.
City Planner Mike Weber recommended the council to table the permit until the conditional use permit and a replat or final plat can be approved at the same time. ....

Lisa Olson officially opened Cutting Edge Pilates to the public on Monday, Dec. 21.
Olson started purchasing Pilates equipment this summer, but the opening was delayed because of remodeling work in the space, a 10-week backorder with the machines she needed and the statewide pause on gyms and fitness centers.
Pilates emphasizes core strength in order to support the rest of a person’s body. People may group Pilates with yoga because both have mind and body approaches. Olson said she distinguishes them by categorizing yoga with stillness and Pilates with movement. ....
