Oyetola Inaugurates Construction of Juice Company

Osun State Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, yesterday, inaugurated the construction work of a juice production company, owned by Collins Crown Limited, at the Omoluabi Free Trade Zone, Osogbo.
This is just as the governor reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to improving the ease of doing business, and to eliminate identifiable bottlenecks that can discourage investors.
The construction of the company is one of the positive outcomes of the government’s determination to advance the state’s economy through sustainable Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement.
Speaking at the occasion, Governor Oyetola said the location of the juice production company in Osogbo was apt, as the state is economically endowed with great potential for fruits harvest. ....

Osun governor launches juice production company in Osogbo

Osun State Governor, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola, on Friday inaugurated the construction work of a juice production company at the Omoluabi Free Trade Zone, Osogbo.
This is just as the Governor reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to improving the ease of doing business and eliminate identifiable bottlenecks that can discourage investors.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Oyetola said the citing of the juice production company in Osogbo was apt, as the state is economically endowed with great potential for fruits harvest.
According to him, pineapple is largely available in Ejigbo, Irepodun and Ifelodun Local Government Areas, oranges in Ife/Ijesha, Iwo zones and some other parts of the state, hence, the citing of the plant would curb wasting of tons of such fruit. ....

Police parade two Turkish kidnap suspects, four others in Kwara

The Kwara State police Command, on Wednesday, paraded two kidnap suspects and four others for various offences.
Addressing newsmen at the command headquarters in Ilorin, the state Police Commissioner, Mr Lawal Mohammed Bagega, said the kidnap suspects, Umaru Mohammed Tambayam (29) and Muhammed Tambaya Bell (26) were among the six armed gang who masterminded the kidnap of four Turkish nationals in July 2019, at Gbubgu village in Edu Local Government of the state, but escaped.
He said four of the kidnappers were arrested with one AK-47 rifle at the time of the incident, though the victims were rescued alive without payment of ransom. ....

No fewer than nine out of the 16 local government councils chairmen of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State yesterday pledged their support to Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa as the state caretaker chairman in accordance with the party’s Constitution.
Some APC local government chairmen led by the party’s chairman in Ilorin West Local Government, Alhaji Sulyam Tejidin had on Thursday thrown their weight behind the faction of Alhaji Samari Abdullahi as the acting chairman of the party in the state.
Disquiet have been trailing the removal of Bolarinwa as the state chairman of the party as the two stakeholders of the party have been engaging themselves in supremacy battle over the issue. ....

Accidents: Lagos govt vows to prosecute errant drivers

The Lagos State Government has vowed that henceforth, it will not hesitate to arrest and prosecute drivers involved in careless and wanton auto crashes that often lead to an inferno, loss of lives and property.
This happened as the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, on Tuesday issued a three-month ultimatum to traders at Ifelodun Plank Market, Demurin in Agboyi-Ketu area of Lagos to put the safety and precautionary measures in place or have the market shut.
Recall that the market was gutted by fire on December 28, 2020, with several properties, worth millions of naira destroyed. In 2013, the same market was razed by fire. ....
