Senate elections: PTI's Iftikhar Mohmand requests PM to reconsider party candidates

PESHAWAR: Former provincial minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leader from Mardan, Iftikhar Mohmand, on Sunday requested Prime Minister Imran Khan to reconsider the list of party candidates for the Senate seats from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the light of promises and commitments made to him during the 2018 general election.
I had withdrawn nomination papers from the seats of both National Assembly and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly from Mardan following the assurances given to me by Imran Khan, Iftikhar Mohmand said during a hurriedly called press conference.
He said he believed that Prime Minister Imran Khan was honest, sincere and firm in his commitments. ....

Presidential ordinance: Mian Iftikhar says PM does not trust PTI lawmakers

NOWSHERA: Awami National Party (ANP) central General Secretary and Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) spokesman Mian Iftikhar Hussain on Sunday said Prime Minister Imran Khan did not trust the lawmakers of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) which prompted his government to promulgate the presidential ordinance to hold the Senate election through open ballot.
Addressing a gathering here, he said that it was the prerogative of the Parliament to amend the Constitution. He pointed out that the PTI had disrespected the Parliament by promulgating the ordinance for holding the Senate polls through the open ballot.
ANP provincial deputy general secretary Taimur Baz Khan, Secretary Culture Dr Khadim Hussain and district head Jamal Khattak and others also addressed the gathering. ....

NOWSHERA: Awami National Party (ANP) secretary-general and Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) spokesman Mian Iftikhar Hussain said on Friday the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had failed due to its flawed policies.
“The PTI government will be sent packing if justice is dispensed in the foreign funding case,” he said while speaking at a by-election campaign meeting for his party candidate for the PK-63 seat, Engineer Mian Wajahatullah Kakakhel.
The ANP senior leader said the PTI government had brought the country on the verge of collapse due to its domestic, foreign and economic policies which he said were unwise. Mian Iftikhar was critical of the PTI government for the unprecedented price spiral. “The government first increased the prices of petrol in the first month of this year and now the power tariff has been increased by 15 per cent. All these steps have made life miserable ....

After the success of popular series like Scam 1992 and Criminal Justice: Behind Closed Doors , Applause Entertainment is all set to collaborate with award-winning studio Drishyam Films for the film, based on the life of one of India s most decorated military officers, Major Mohit Sharma.
