Visits restrictions ease


Woodford Correctional Centre
Under Stage 2 restrictions, personal visits are unable to occur.. Virtual Personal Visits can still be booked as normal.
Community Corrections will move to Stage 2 restrictions in Townsville District and also Hervey Bay District Office south to the border and west to Ipswich District Office. All other Community Corrections offices will move to Stage 1 restrictions.
Anyone entering a correctional centre will continue to undergo health screening and temperature checks. For the safety of our officers and the prisoners in our care, please do not come for a visit if you are unwell or showing any COVID-19 symptoms, even if they are minor (please self-isolate and get tested immediately). ....

A MUM has been told by Queensland’s Chief Judge to get off drugs because her ‘nonsense’ kept resulting in her getting into trouble with the law.
New drug related convictions mean the Gatton woman again breached a suspended jail sentence imposed for a trafficking offence in 2017.
Chief Judge Brian Devereaux SC warned Melissa Francis this week that her drug use would inevitably result in her going back to jail.
Melissa Leanne Francis, 36, pleaded guilty to breaching a suspended sentence at Ipswich District Court.
Office of Director of Public Prosecutions legal officer Chantel Phillips said Francis had been sentenced by an Ipswich judge in September 2018 for the drug trafficking committed in 2017. ....
