A MUM has been told by Queensland’s Chief Judge to get off drugs because her ‘nonsense’ kept resulting in her getting into trouble with the law.
New drug related convictions mean the Gatton woman again breached a suspended jail sentence imposed for a trafficking offence in 2017.
Chief Judge Brian Devereaux SC warned Melissa Francis this week that her drug use would inevitably result in her going back to jail.
Melissa Leanne Francis, 36, pleaded guilty to breaching a suspended sentence at Ipswich District Court.
Office of Director of Public Prosecutions legal officer Chantel Phillips said Francis had been sentenced by an Ipswich judge in September 2018 for the drug trafficking committed in 2017. ....

Ja’Mari Oliver walked into the Safeway on Market Street to buy a sandwich for his lunch, which he would eat at school for the first time in more than 14 months.
He was excited early on April 26 about seeing friends that day and feeling proud that his mom let him go into Safeway in the Castro neighborhood by himself.
The fifth-grader paid for his meal at the deli counter and headed out to meet his mom. Before he made it to the door, two security guards and a store employee stopped him, and questioned whether he had stolen the items. ....

Police find cannabis, meth during raid of Gatton woman’s home
Melisa Leanne Francis fronted court after police raided her Gatton home and found drugs and utensils on January 6.
Francis pleaded to three charges – possessing meth, possessing cannabis and possessing utensils, bongs and pipes that had been used - in the Gatton Magistrates Court on Monday, January, 25.
Police prosecutor senior sergeant Al Windsor said police obtained a warrant to search Francis’ Railway Street address. ....
