Hate is one of the most media addressed issues in modern times. However, the discussion of “hate” is not new.
“Hate” discussions have a historical genesis. From the old to the new testaments, there are biblical injunctions and admonitions to “not hate:” For example, Leviticus 19:17 “You shall not hate your brother in your heart,.. ;” and, John 3:15 “Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer. . . . “
We are instructed from Protestant and Catholic pulpits, as well as Islamic Mosques, to “love one another as you love yourself! [assuming you do love yourself!]” And, of course, in one form or the other most religions espouse and propound a version of the” golden rule” designed so as to quail people’s inner hate: “Do unto to others as you would have them do unto you.” From political leaders to judges, school teachers, faith leaders, civil rights advocates, scout ....

Catholics pray for reconciliation in riot-shaken Senegal

A number of Catholic movements in Senegal have just finished a three-day prayer campaign for national reconciliation following deadly violence last month that shook the normally peaceful West African nation.
Angry protests and looting broke on March 3 after political opposition leader Ousmane Sonko was arrested after being accused of rape allegations he vehemently denies.
The government this week opened an investigation into last month s violence that it says left five people dead. The opposition says at least 13 people alone were killed by security forces.
Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have denounced unidentified agents for joining the government-backed forces and using excessive force. ....

A variety in everyday movements is linked to better wellbeing, according to a small new study of psychiatric patients, a finding that may help to explain why pandemic lockdowns have been tough for so many of us.
 
Staying active during a global pandemic has been quite difficult, especially when many people are afraid to even go outside. Some have taken to exercising at home, and yet in a normal world, spontaneous outings are important health factors that we tend to underestimate. 
When most of us think of mental-boosting activities, we imagine deliberate and strenuous exercise, like a jog, a bike, or a swim, but it seems that just visiting a variety of different locations is associated with a higher sense of wellbeing in people with depression or anxiety. ....
