Albania’s ruling Socialist Party (SP), led by Prime Minister Edi Rama, has won Sunday’s election with 48% of the vote, handing the party 74 seats in the 140-seat parliament, the same number of seats the party won in the previous election.
It was the “most difficult but sweetest election victory. We have broken the record,” PM Rama told thousands of his flag-waving supporters in Skenderbeg Square in Tirana. “Thank you for the trust you have given me in my third term,” he added.
“My dream is to make Albania in this decade the Balkan champion, in tourism and agro-tourism, in energy and agriculture and in fast, qualitative, incorruptible digital services,” Rama said. ....

TIRANA, April 28 (Xinhua) Albania s ruling Socialist Party (SP) has won the parliamentary elections held on Sunday for a third term, according to the latest results published by the Central Elections Commission (CEC) early Wednesday.
With over 99 percent of the votes counted, the ruling SP led by Prime Minister Edi Rama has won 48.51 percent or over 750,000 votes at the national level, or 74 seats in the 140-seat parliament, according to the CEC results.
That would allow the SP to form a government alone.
The main opposition Democratic Party (DP) comes second with 39.36 percent or a total of over 615,000 votes, securing 59 parliament seats. ....

TIRANA (Albania), April 21 (SeeNews) – Albania s governing Socialist Party (PS) led by prime minister Edi Rama retains its lead over its main opponent, the Democratic Party (PD), albeit with a slim margin of just 1%, less than a week before Sunday s general election, a new poll showed.
The PS would win between 43.5% and 47.5% of the votes against 42.5%-46.5% for the PD led by Lulzim Basha, a poll conducted by Italian research centre Noto Sondaggi and quoted by Albanian TV broadcaster Ora News showed late on Tuesday.
Albania s third biggest political force, the Socialist Movement for Integration (LSI), is expected to win between 4% and 7.5% of the vote. ....

TIRANA (Albania), April 28 (SeeNews) – Albania s ruling Socialist Party (PS) led by prime minister Edi Rama won Sunday s general election, securing its third straight term in office, official final results showed on Wednesday.
The Socialists won 48.68% of the votes which gives them 74 of 140 seats in parliament, according to the results announced by the Central Election Commission based on 100% of the ballots counted.
The main opponent of the Socialists, the Democratic Party (PD) led by Lulzim Basha garnered 39.43% support (59 seats), followed by the Social Movement for Integration (LSI) with 6.81% of the votes (4 seats) and the Social Democratic Party with 2.25% (3 seats). ....
