SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - You might have seen a lot of blue this month. April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Coastal Children’s Advocacy Center is one of several organizations in Chatham County specifically helping children suffering from abuse. Executive Director Rose Grant-Robinson says in 2020, they saw over 260 children between the ages of three and 18 who had been physically or sexually abused.
“These are the ones that have reported,” said Grant-Robinson.
Of those who reported, only 15 children were Hispanic. ....

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Coastal Children’s Advocacy Center is taking a step to reach even more at-risk children in the community this week, specifically in Chatham County’s Hispanic population.
The non-profit just opened a new Hispanic Outreach Center off Ogeechee Road. City leaders say this was a much-needed step toward reaching an under-served part of the county. The outreach center has bi-lingual therapists, counselors and advocates who will be able to help children between the ages of 2 and 17 who have been the victims of sexual or severe physical abuse or have witnessed violence. ....
