The HSE is to provide a major funding boost to address years of underfunding in a Longford disability services provider.
St Christopher s Service has struggled to attract and retain staff due to a lack of funds to pay nurses and carers any additional increments due to them from social partnership agreements.
Longford TD Joe Flaherty has confirmed that €800,000 is being allocated to the service which is likely to be able to provide funding for extra resources until 2024.
