Three Twin Cedars Seniors Very Important To The Sabers This Season

There were three seniors on the Twin Cedars Boys Basketball Squad this season. Kade Dunkin scored the most points of the three at 10.9 points per game, while Brett Sedlock had 45 assists and grabbed 100 rebounds while Jace Nichols had one of the top three point shooting percentages on the team at 41-percent. Coach Blake McWilliams tells KNIA/KRLS Sports they all meant a lot to the program.
McWilliams:
“Kade Dunkin has been playing a lot for me, and Jace Nichols played a bigger role, and Bret Sedlock always put in the effort and made the right play.”

Improved Rebounding Shows Promise For Next Season For Twin Cedars Boys

While the Twin Cedars Boys Basketball Squad did not have the tallest team around, the Sabers still held their own in rebounding. Twin Cedars finished 7th in the Bluegrass Conference in rounding averaging 28.5 per game. Coach Blake McWilliams tells KNIA/KRLS Sports rebounding was one of the most improved areas of the team this season.
McWilliams:
“Not getting out rebounded was something that a lot of people might not notice, we were better at this season. you notice as a coach when you have four kids that are shorter than the other team, that was a good thing to see this season.” ....

It was a stop and start kind of season for the Twin Cedars Boys Basketball Squad in 2020/2021. The Sabers twice had to pause activities due to positive COVID-19 tests and never got into a rhythm during the season. One takeaway that Coach Blake McWilliams notes is the final game of the season when his team came back from 15 days between games.

“I thought the kids were happy they got to come back and play. They could have been very disappointed and hung their heads, and their big takeaway was they got to play that last game and lilley knew that was it.” ....
