RNLI volunteers skydives and raises £600
An RNLI volunteer has raised £600 for the life-saving charity and Blood Bikes Cumbria by skydiving over Cumbria.
Dave Rothery, one of the volunteer deputy launch authorities at St Bees RNLI, took on the challenge of a tandem skydive over Grange-over-Sands.
Dave, who also volunteers for Blood Bikes Cumbria, wanted to raise money for both charities.
Dave said: “This was a great experience and something I had wanted to do for a long time. I would like to thank all my friends and family who helped raise money for these two brilliant charities.
“Fundraising has not been easy over the last year for the RNLI and Blood Bikes and this donation will be put to good use.”

Jordan completes a 1,000 mile walk for Blood Bikes Cumbria – in one month

The New Year may be a time of health-kicks and New Me challenges, but one man took it to another level.
In a bid to raise funds for Blood Bikes Cumbria, Jordan Roddis set himself the task of walking the equivalent road distance between Land's End and John o'Groats in the 31 days of January – a whopping 874 miles.
And with a gruelling schedule of waking up at 5am to get in each day's 28.19 miles, and even adding extra miles on to some day's hikes in case of injury or necessary rest days, the 27-year-old smashed his challenge by January 27.
But he wasn't finished just yet, and instead Jordan set himself the target of 1,000 miles – and he is proud to say the task is officially done and dusted, with a total end mileage of 1,026 clocked up by January 31.
