FORT MCCOY, Wis. Venturing into rolling green fields and lush summer foliage, this morning finds US Army Reserve Soldiers and leaders on a mission. Capt. Samuel Tunstall, operations officer of the 16th Psychological Operations Battalion, 2nd Psychological Group, United States Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command, identified one of his hardworking subject matter experts and professionals to share their story.
“Sergeant Molenda is the one to speak with. He put together the training package for our scenarios today, is very sharp, and knows this job inside and out,” Tunstall said.
Today’s rising heat and sweltering humidity embrace a sizable multi-family compound and 16th PO BN’s training area for the day; essentially a small village fully contained within sturdy walls, and limited access through a single gate to a veritable labyrinth of linked courtyards and living spaces. These dedicated training structures are similar thos ....

SAN DIEGO – A bottle of brake fluid and a bag of pool chlorine can stay harmless when stored safely in a garage. When you combine the two, the polyethylene glycol mixed with the calcium hypochlorite will seem quiet at first. Two minutes later, the chemical reaction of the two will ignite a spark, and an 8-foot flame will shoot in the air. This was one of the demonstrations taught by the FBI to Army Reserve Soldiers during Guardian Shield at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Miramar, California.
Army Criminal Investigation Command (CID) special agents, military police and Soldiers from the 200th Military Police Command spent two weeks training with the FBI on homemade explosives, post blast investigation, surveillance detection, FBI profiling and hostage negotiation. Soldiers also had the opportunity to train on criminal intelligence, logistics security, drivers training and combat lifesaver. ....

More than 200 Army Reserve Soldiers of the 307th Chemical Company, Bell, Calif., trained for the worst of the worst during a nuclear attack scenario as part of Guardian Response, a multi-component Homeland Emergency Response Exercise, held at Muscatatuck Urban Training Center, Ind., April 22.
The complex, mass-casualty training event took place in a hypothetical environment, where a simulated nuclear event occurred in a major US city. The mission included three main objectives handling casualties: recognizance, decontamination and medical treatment.
“As an Army Reserve Soldier, this is a unique opportunity to train for a real-world scenario that would take place state-side where we can help our fellow citizens,” said Sgt. First Class Anthony Butler, Noncommissioned Officer in Charge, 307th Chemical Company. “This is an interesting opportunity because the location is built to mimic a real environment in a large city where a disaster has happene ....
