India is thus a net importer in April with a trade deficit of USD 15.24 billion, which increased by 120.34 per cent over the trade deficit of USD 6.92 billion in April 2020, the commerce ministry said

India s exports jumped nearly three-fold to USD 30.21 billion in April from USD 10.17 billion in the same month last year, according to commerce ministry s preliminary data released on Sunday. Imports too rose to USD 45.45 billion last month as against USD 17.09 billion in April 2020. ....

By Staff Reporter MUSCAT: Jan. 21 - Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) has published a study on how the import of some products is adversely affecting Omani crafts market as well as the ability of traditional businesses to remain competitive. Badr al Ma’amari, an academic and researcher at SQU, said, “Studies have revealed the problem is directly linked to agreements under free trade or open market polices or because of the guidelines laid out by institutions such as Unesco, which are often based keeping in the mind the countries with large population such as India, China, and relatively smaller Egypt and Mexico.” ....
