Donna Lee Tompkins, 87, of Jamestown, ND died on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Ave Maria Village. Donna was born January 21, 1934, in Jamestown, to Lawrence and Hannah (Westby) Stoehr. She was raised in the house that her dad built, educated in Jamestown, and graduated in 1952. She worked in medical records and as a receptionist/bookkeeper at Jamestown Hospital for four years, then part time until 1963. She met Gilford Tompkins, a young farmer from Pingree, at a dance in Eldridge; they dated for two years and married November 8, 1954 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Jamestown. They were blessed with five children and raised them on their farm near Pingree. Donna was gracious and kind, and always considered others before herself. She will be remembered for her good cooking, baking, and being a wonderful hostess for family, friends, neighbors and her high school reunion guests. Dec 11, 2020 5:03 PM Alice Louise Kempton, 84, formerly of Tekonsha, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Birch Meadows AFC in Three Rivers. A private family graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Tekonsha, with her son, Pastor Douglas Kempton, of Grace Community Church in Detroit, officiating. A public celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2021. The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation of Union City. Alice was born March 12, 1936 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Clinton âMikeâ and Leora (Green) Seadorf. After graduating in 1953 from Vicksburg High School, she married Vernon Kempton on November 7, 1953 in Vicksburg. He survives. The couple made their home in the Tekonsha/Homer area until moving to South Florida from 1963-1974, at which time they returned to Tekonsha. Alice spent many years as a devoted mother and homemaker.
