Winsford schoolgirl walks a mile every day to make children happy


A LITTLE girl is determined to complete a lockdown challenge to cheer children up.
Winsford schoolgirl Sophia Ankers is walking one mile every day in February with her mum and always wears something in bright yellow.
The five-year-old has already raised more than £300 for Young Minds Trust, a charity committed to the emotional and mental wellbeing of children and young people.

Mum Hannah, 27, came up with the idea after Sophia told her she felt sad and had lost her smile .
Beauty consultant Hannah said: A lot of children are feeling sad and lonely home schooling. Sophia has been struggling. They are not with their friends and learning on their own is different. ....

Hannah Ankers was upset when her five-year-old daughter Sophia told her she felt sad.
I ve noticed in the past week that she has been a bit down, said Hannah, 27, from Winsford.
I tried to do things to cheer her up as she has not taken to home schooling too well.
Then Sophia said to me: Mummy, I ve lost my smile and can t seem to find it . It really hit a nerve. This year has been extremely difficult not only for us but children have also been affected.
