More than 100,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in Illinois since the first vaccine was approved for emergency use this month, more than any other state in the nation. ....

EDWARDSVILLE The first batches of the COVID-19 vaccine arrived in Illinois last week, followed by more good news this week.
More than 100,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in Illinois since the first vaccine was approved for emergency use this month.
The Madison County Health Department received its first batch of vaccines last week and that went to its five hospitals, which in turn administered doses to their staff members.
“We had a small amount of doses left beyond what they had asked for in the first round and we were able to start giving those to some other health care providers,” said Amy Yeager of the health department. ....
