Loco Coco s Tacos temporarily closes due to COVID case KITTERY, Maine Following a positive test for COVID-19 amongst its staff, Loco Coco’s Tacos in Kittery will be closed “for a few days.” The 36 Walker St. establishment announced on its website that, beginning Sunday, Jan. 24, the restaurant would be closed until further notice in order for restaurant employees to get tested for the virus. A dishwasher on the Mexican bar and cantina joint’s staff tested positive for the coronavirus following exposure to a family member who had also received a positive COVID-19 diagnosis, the website says. “We will take a few days to test all of our employees. This is our first Covid closure and we are taking all steps to ensure it is the last,” a notice on the restaurant’s website states. “We will keep you posted! ....
PORTSMOUTH Harrison Schoenau, a former decade-long online poker player hailing from New York, has admitted to having dreams of entering the restaurant scene for many years. Now, after taking over ownership at 76 Congress St. in 2018, undergoing two years worth of renovations and defying the limitations of the coronavirus pandemic, Schoenau has decided to go all-in on his eatery aspirations. Fresh House Cafe and Restaurant, which held its soft opening on Friday, Nov. 27 following the Thanksgiving holiday, is a healthy-food addition to the downtown Portsmouth foodscape, offering mainly organic, plant-based options with plans to expand the menu to include more meat entrees, beer and wine services, a latte and espresso bar over the coming months.
