Honor moms by giving blood with Vitalant


Nonprofit blood services provider Vitalant urges all eligible donors to make an appointment to give blood, platelets or plasma this May in support of mothers and all patients relying on lifesaving blood transfusions. 
As a token of thanks, all those who come to give through May 25 will receive a $5 amazon.com gift card, while May 26 to June 1 holiday week donors will receive a Vitalant ball cap redeemable via email.

Last week, The Rising Center and the Care Cottage, along with several community partners, held “Take Back the Night” to show available resources and community support for victims and survivors of sexual assault.

Throughout April, The Rising Center and the Care Cottage have been partnering to raise awareness of Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month (SAAPM). On Thursday, April 22, The Rising Center and the Care Cottage, along with several community partners, held “Take Back the Night” at the Perry County Park. Gorham grieves loss of 3-year-old boy hit by teenage driver
The boy died Wednesday when he was struck by an SUV driven by a 13-year-old girl.

The Gorham community is grieving the loss of the 3-year-old boy killed this week when he was struck by an SUV driven by a 13-year-old girl.
The unusual crash occurred Wednesday evening in the Friendly Village mobile home park. Police have not identified the boy or the driver of the SUV, and Gorham police said it may take several days before they can release more information.
Messages to police Chief Christopher Sanborn were not returned Friday. ....
