Govt set to fully repossess, capitalize National Housing

Government has embarked on a process of fully repossessing National Housing and Construction Company, after which it will capitalize the company to be able to put up many affordable housing units.
This was stated by Dr Chris Baryomunsi, state minister for Housing, on Friday, May 7, 2021, at Office of the President auditorium. He was presenting the report of accountability on the lands, housing and urban development sector performance in regard to the pledges made in the NRM Manifesto 2016-2021.

A group of local investors have petitioned Investment minister Evelyn Anite,  accusing some officials in Mukono District of blocking a $15 million (Shs53.3b) tourism project.
Ms Anite said the investors led by proprietors of Paradise and Wildness Resort, petitioned her office last week, complaining about lack of cooperation from district officials. ....

The President, Members of Parliament, and local government leaders will by law take an oath of office before assuming their offices. Why? Because they are servants of the people who should commit paying allegiance to them and their country.
Depending on their religion, the official lifts in his or her right hand either a Bible or Koran while taking the oath. This effectively denotes that an oath is not taken merely for formality, but a public pledge that the official understands the requirements of the position, and will work to meet or exceed those requirements. ....
