Hertfordshire Council mishandles complaints, says ombudsman

When she complained a second time, it again handled the complaint under the wrong procedure.
That meant it was handled internally, instead of prompting an independent investigation.
The ombudsman told the council to apologise and immediately launch an investigation into the woman s case under the correct procedures.
Its report said: “This forms part of a pattern of recent cases we have seen where the council has failed to use the statutory complaints procedure for children’s social care complaints.
“[The mother] has not had her complaint on behalf of her daughter properly considered. That is injustice to her.”

An Táin Art Centre s Basement Gallery has reopened with the easing of restrictions allowing people to view the current exhibition by artist Ulrike Lienetrau.
The visutal artist, who is orginally from Germany, created the spectacular solo exhibition The Labyrinth in the Basement Gallery using recycled materials.
Ulrike graduated as an Occupational Therapist in 2006 at the “medizinische Bildungsakademie” in Zeitz, Germany.
She received a scholarship for gifted students and graduated in 2008 as a Sensory Integration Therapist.
Since 2011 Ulrike has been creating light sculptures and recycled art projects for Irish festivals, local music events, community projects and theatre. ....

Islamabad : Early diagnosis and treatment, coupled with the use of multidisciplinary approaches can play a vital role in improving functional outcomes for children suffering from Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
The Manager of the Rehabilitation Department of Shifa International Hospital (SIH) Faiza Badar disseminated this message on the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day, which is observed every year on April 2 to promote autism awareness and autism acceptance. ASD is a range of neurodevelopmental disorders predominantly characterized by impaired social functioning and communication disturbances.
“The management of autism depends on timely diagnosis, early intervention, and use of a multi-disciplinary approach which includes Behavior Therapy, Speech-Language Therapy, Sensory Integration, and Occupational Therapy,” Faiza stated. ....

Ulrike Liebetrau is An Táin Arts Centre Emerging Artist for 2020.
The German-born artist has been living in Ireland for the past 14 years and is looking forward to having her first solo exhibition in The Basement Gallery later this year.
