Sulzbacher to use Healthmobile to vaccinate homeless Reagan Fink, News4Jax Tags: Sulzbacher will offer vaccines to homeless populations across Northeast Florida using its Healthmobile. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Sulzbacher will use its Healthmobile to vaccinate underserved communities and homeless assistance facilities across Northeast Florida. The clinics will help people who cannot get to a vaccination site. The Healthmobile, called Health and Hope on Wheels, will be traveling to six locations starting on Monday. More dates and locations will be announced. A UPS driver in Jacksonville proved to be a good Samaritan to a South Carolina family involved in a road incident this month on their way home from a Florida vacation. When a rogue tire struck their car while crossing the Dames Point bridge, the Aughtry family made it to a gas station at the next exit, met with the Florida Highway Patrol and began waiting for a tow truck. Because the vehicle was making troubling sounds, they didn t think it was drivable. When UPS driver Charles Wilson stopped at the gas station on his way home from work, he noticed the family’s dilemma and offered help. With a little assistance cutting some debris that had attached to the tire, along with a parking lot test drive before hitting the road, the Aughtrys left in search of a hotel room for the evening. ....

At-Large Group 1 Jacksonville City Council member Terrance Freeman is the new CEO of Read USA. “Thanks to our generous donors and the great support we’ve received from our community partners, we have taken our organization to the next level by hiring a full-time CEO,” said Ellen Wiss, board chair and co-founder of Read USA, in a news release. Read USA is a nonprofit organization that has provided about 250,000 free books to more than 73,000 children in Duval County since 2011.
