The late Joseph Mahfood cherished work done with Food for the Poor

Joseph Mahfood, a founder member of Wisynco Group died on Thurday, April 8, 2021.
Chairman of Winsynco Group, William Mahfood says his late father cherished the work he did with Food For The Poor, more than all the other achievements during his lifetime.
According to William, his father Joseph (Joe), who died on Thursday from cancer, had a special place in his heart for Food For The Poor Jamaica, which was founded in 1982 by brothers Ferdinand, Sam, Joe and Robin.
“The most important thing and he would look at me sometimes and he would say that probably the most significant role that he ever played, in his entire life, was at the beginning and the foundation of Food For The Poor,” William said of Joe, who was also one of the ‘founding ‘fathers’ of Wisynco. ....

PATH families get food hampers from New Fortress, FFP

This elderly couple could not wait to get home to examine the contents of their Christmas food hamper that they received from New Fortress Energy Foundation [ Foundation is not in the article]. The energy provider issued a total of 600 generously packed hampers to families on the Government’s PATH programme as part of its Christmas community outreach programme.
Some 600 families registered on the Government’s PATH programme are set to have a brighter Christmas this year, thanks to donations of Christmas food hampers by New Fortress Energy (NFE) and local non-governmental organisation Food For The Poor Jamaica (FFP), as part of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) provider’s Christmas outreach initiative. ....

Shenseea joins Boom Energy Drink to hand over home to the needy

Dancehall sensation and BOOM Ambassador Shenseea assisted with the hand over of the home to a retired postal worker in St Catherine.
BOOM, Jamaica’s first 100 per-cent locally manufactured energy drink by the Wisynco Group, will celebrate its 10 year anniversary in 2021 by gifting 10 of the island’s most vulnerable with 10 houses through the Food For The Poor ‘Tan Ah Yuh Yard’ COViD-19 housing initiative.
The announcement was made during the first of the 10 home constructions on Friday, December 18 in Braeton Meadows, Portmore, St Catherine for debilitated, 69-year-old retired postal worker Joan Willie.
According to Senior Marketing and Public Relations Manager at Wisynco, Tamara Ward, “During our 10 years, BOOM has established itself as the number one energy drink in Jamaica. Our BOOM consumers are the ones that are really helping all the persons we are able to donate to; so this is a thank you to Jamaica.” ....

FFP spreading holiday cheer throughout fishing villages

Food For The Poor Jamaica (FFP), as part of its Basket of Care Programme, has embarked on an effort to spread holiday cheer alongside captains from the 14 fishing villages on the FFP Fishing Programme. Throughout the fishing villages, FFP provided almost 300 food and hygiene care packages; along with cooked meals prepared by the captains to those in need for the holiday season.
The distribution kicked off in early December, targeting individuals from Parottee and Galleon fishing communities in St Elizabeth; Scott’s Cove, Westmoreland and Manchioneal, Portland, and is expected to touch the lives of families in all other fishing communities where FFP operates. ....
