Special Election Announced for Montgomery City Council District Three

The City of Montgomery has announced a special election for Montgomery City Council District Three.
The special election will take place on March 23.
City officials say anyone interested in qualifying as a candidate for the seat, an individual must have at least six month of residency in District Three prior to the election. The prospective candidate must also live in the district during their term(s) of office and not hold any other public office. The exceptions would be that of a notary public or service in the National Guard or naval or military reserve.
In order to vote in the special election, voters must live in District Three for at least 30 days prior to March 23 and are authorized to vote in that district’s city-designated precinct. ....

Charles County Public Schools Expanding Mobile Meal Service, Beginning Wednesday, January 6, 2021 | Southern Maryland News Net

Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) is expanding its mobile meal bus service to more locations in Charles County. Beginning Wednesday, Jan. 6, school buses will deliver meal bags to additional locations convenient for all students and their families. Buses will deliver mobile meals to the sites Monday through Friday.
Additional sites will be added as they are finalized. On days when CCPS calls an inclement weather code or delay, mobile meal service is canceled.
Mobile meal bags are free for all children ages 2 to 18 and include heat-and-serve food items, similar to items included in weekend meal bags handed out at CCPS curbside meal distribution sites. Curbside meal sites operate 7 to 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Details about the CCPS curbside meal sites are posted here. ....

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Chatham County Board of Elections will begin processing absentee ballots ahead of next monthâs senate runoff.
Poll workers will begin preparing the absentee ballots on Monday, Dec. 21 at the Elections Annex. This will begin around 10 a.m.
Just like the Nov. 3 election, local officials expect to see a large number of absentee ballots. Starting Monday, poll workers will be able to get an early count of the mail-in ballots received so far. Theyâll also be able to check the voterâs information and prepare their ballots so that they will be ready to be put through the machine on Election Day.
