A MAN described as a sexual predator has been convicted of grabbing a young Japanese tourist by the throat and sexually assaulting her on the second day of her trip to Scotland.
Kevin Turner had denied forcing his way into the 24-year-old’s Airbnb flat in Musselburgh and attacking her with intent to rape her in a terrifying hour-long ordeal.
A jury took just over two hours to return a unanimous verdict finding him guilty after it emerged Turner’s DNA had been found on his victim’s neck.
Turner, 29, who gave an address in Galashiels but is originally from Leith, was also convicted of propositioning a 50-year-old mum at an Edinburgh park and asking her to go to a secluded walkway with him “for fun”. ....
