Yet weather on the Oregon coast – big surprise – doesn’t always cooperate with that. The startling truth about that is - so what? One of the more lovely design elements of the region is the mists and fog that envelope the area. The same can be true of night photography here.

(Cannon Beach, Oregon) – The final set of king tides for the Oregon coast and the Washington coast are coming up on January 11 – 13, bringing massive waves to just about every beach and harbor in the region. From Brookings, Gold Beach, Coos Bay, Florence to Lincoln City, Seaside and up through Westport and La Push, it means an army of volunteers help document the highest point reached by these highest of tides.

It’s called Ziolkouski Beach Park, a wide expanse of beach – and a few other things - that sit where the sands of the Winchester Bay area and the Umpqua River meet. All of it quite near Reedsport.
