Antoine de Saint-Affrique to step down as Barry Callebaut CEO after six years as Group reports first-half net profit drop

Barry Callebaut Group has announced that current CEO Antoine de Saint-Affrique will leave the post after six years, and be replaced by Americas chief Peter Boone, effective 1 September.
The Dutch national and former employee of Unilever PLC has led the Americas division since late 2017 where he “
achieved solid, profitable, volume growth and expanded its customer portfolio,” said the Swiss supplier of premium chocolate and cocoa to the industry.
During de Saint-Affrique’s tenure the Group’s share price more than doubled with sales rising by 17% and a healthy profit of more than two-thirds before the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020. ....

Dow and Shiny Meadow making roads from milk bottles in China
Dow and Chinese dairy company Shiny Meadow have partnered to divert plastic waste from the environment.
In China s first ever plastic road project, the companies utilized used milk bottles to construct a road made with recycled plastic, giving hard-to-recycle plastic a second life.
Dow said it is committed to enable 1m tons of plastic to be collected, reused, or recycled through its direct actions and partnerships by 2030.
The Milk Bottle Road was unveiled at East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) Xuhui Campus. Enabled by Dow s ELVALOY RET asphalt modification technology, more than 6,000 used milk bottles and other plastic wastes were used to pave the polymer-modified asphalt (PMA) road. Dow said roads made with PMA demonstrate excellent performance and durability as compared to conventional neat asphalt. ....
