Elite Athletes to Speak on Expectations for the 2021 Edition Today

ACCESS LAGOS MARATHON
The organisers of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon will hold a world press conference today to herald the sixth edition of the World Athletics Silver Label Race.
In a statement issued by Head of Communication and Media, Olukayode Thomas, the world press conference which will have in attendance the top elite runners from across the world will hold at the Molade Okoya Thomas Hall at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.
Thomas explained that only 25 journalists will be attending today’s event due to the strict protocols for Covid-19 spelt out by the NDDC as well as the Lagos State Safety Commission. ....

The strong cast of elite runners invited for the 2021 Access Bank Lagos City Marathon are now in town for Saturday’s eagerly-anticipated race.
According to an official statement released by Olukayode Thomas, Head Communication and Media for the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon, over 95 percent of the elite runners have already arrived in Lagos while a few others are scheduled to jet in early Thursday.
Thomas confirmed that the 2019 Women champion, Meseret Dinke and fellow Ethiopians Sechale Dalasa, Motu Megersa and Obse Abdeta have all arrived from their respective bases. ....

Elite athletes arrive for Lagos city marathon

The strong cast of elite athletes from different countries and states in Nigeria have started arriving Lagos for the 2021 Access Bank Lagos city marathon slated for Saturday, April 10.
Now in its sixth edition, the Lagos Marathon usually attracts over 100,000 runners but the number has been reduced to just 300 runners for the 2021 edition.
The event has consistently been organised in February but due to COVID-19, it was moved to April by the organisers.

Kenya Airways Joins Lagos City Marathon as Partner

The number of global brands entering into partnerships with Access Bank Lagos City Marathon increased on Wednesday as award-winning airline, Kenya Airways joined the rich list of partners.
With Access Bank as Headline Sponsor, the rich list of partners include 7UP Bottling Company, Eko Atlantic City, Eko Hotels, Revolution Plus Property, Bet9ja, and Skechers, the Centre of Excellence Lagos is the host city.
The deal to bring Kenya Airways onboard the award-winning Access Bank Lagos City Marathon was brokered by the Project Consultant and Managing Director Nilayo Sports Management Limited, Bukola Olopade.

CHANGSHA, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) The Changsha Marathon 2020 is to be held on December 19 in an online format, the organizing committee announced on Wednesday.
The online race will be held from December 19 to December 20. Runners can register through the Joyrun App. The race includes a half-marathon, marathon and other events. Participants will be required to complete the race with the Joyrun App, and upload screenshots of the recorded activity.
The Changsha Marathon, an annual event in central China s Hunan Province since 2015, was upgraded to a World Athletics Silver Label road race earlier this year. ....
