TBILISI: The World Journalists Conference (WJC), organized by the Journalists Association of Korea (JAK) annually, was conducted from Monday, April 19 to Tuesday, April 20, 2021, online for the second time in its history – due to the continuing global pandemic – COVID-19.
On Tuesday, April 20, during the 2
nd day of the WJC 2021, in which around 70 journalists and other media and non-media professionals participated from about 50 countries in total, in relevance to the conference session topic, along with other 21 colleagues, I gave the following speech, addressing quite critical cases in Georgia, while discussing the global climate issues and the role of journalism: ....

TBILISI: The World Journalists Conference (WJC), organized by the Journalists Association of Korea (JAK) annually, was conducted from Monday, April 19 to Tuesday, April 20, 2021, online for the second time in its history – due to the continuing global pandemic – COVID-19.
Monday, April 19, the very first day of the two-day event, in which around 70 journalists and other media and non-media professionals participated from about 50 countries in total, was dedicated perhaps to the most important global challenge nowadays as is – the COVID and post-COVID era, its prospects and the role of journalism.  After the Opening Address speech, made by Kim Dong Hoon, President of JAK, and Prime Minister Chung Sye-Kyun’s Congratulatory Address, 26 speakers participated in the Conference 1 through their topical presentations and Q&A Session. ....

Journalists praise WJC2021 as among the best ever, pay tribute to Journalists Association of Korea, organizers


Special efforts were put in to ensure the success of WJC2021 with its mixture of in-person and online participations (WJC2021)
SEOUL: Participants at the World Journalists Conference 2021 have hailed the annual meeting as a tremendous success.
Journalists paid special tribute to the Journalists Association of Korea and the organizers for their special endeavors to iron out any obstacle and ensure that the conference, held both in-person for people living in Korea, and online, for the journalists coming from 50 countries, exceeded expectations.
“Dear friends in WJC team! It was better than any online Conference provided before,” Kuban from Kyrgyzstan, commented.

Climate change conference stresses need for prompt collective action, proactive role of media

MANAMA: An international media conference in the Korean capital Seoul has warned that the threats associated with climate change are so ominous that inaction to take collective action would have a high cost for humanity.
Participants at the World Journalists Conference 2021, an annual event hosted by the Journalists Association of Korea (JAK), said that collective action was crucial and must no longer be procrastinated or undermined by narrow political or business interests or lack of awareness.
Millions of people are at risk in Central Asia due to climate change, Kubanychbek Taabaldiev, the Director General of Kabar News Agency, Kyrgyzstan, warned in his presentation about the impact of climate change on Central Asia. ....
