Dr. Stephen Silliman has been named dean of the new Trevecca Nazarene University School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Silliman was dean of Gonzaga Universityâs School of Engineering and Applied Science from 2012-18. He later served at the U.S. Agency for International Developmentâs Global Development Lab as a Jefferson Science Fellow before returning to Gonzaga as an environmental studies and engineering professor in 2019. BACKGROUND Digital Frontiers is a $74.4 million buy-in mechanism available to USAID Bureaus and Missions from 2017-2022. DAI implements the Digital Frontiers project, which works closely with USAID’s Global Development Lab (GDL), the Center for Digital Development (CDD), USAID Missions, the private sector, and international and local development organizations to identify successful and sustainable digital development approaches and scale their impact globally. In August 2019, USAID/Senegal completed the Burkina Faso and Niger Digital Assessment for Food Security and Resilience and discovered that USAID is investing increasing amounts of resources in digital tools across the Sahel, but that those tools are largely siloed into various individual activities.
