The Federal Government has noted that its efforts in encouraging Nigerians to register for the National Identity Number, NIN, under the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy is a strategic and critical effort to ensure that citizens have a credible, converged and consistent database for identity purposes. Speaking at the Global Privacy Day Celebration, 2021, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Pantami, said the value of the registration exercise would become appreciated with the ease at which e-government services would be delivered, the reduction in crime, and general efficiency guaranteed by the database. Atiku receives second dose of COVID-19 vaccine Published His media aide, Paul Ibe, confirmed this on his Twitter page. Atiku, who is currently in Dubai, UAE, received the first shot on January 6. “H.E @atiku earlier today took his second dose of Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine. “He had earlier had the first jab on the 6th of January,” Ibe tweeted. The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine has been approved by several countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom. The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has warned popular Yoruba rights activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, to be careful of politicians seeking to hijack his agitations against killer herdsmen in the South West. The monarch in an interview with Arise TV advised Igboho not to take the laws into his hands but to allow constituted authorities to handle the herdsmen menace in the region. A former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido has said that the unfortunate dislikes, attacks and persecution of Fulanis in Nigeria today, was because President Buhari, a Fulani man has woefully failed to protect and provide good governance for Nigerians. Lamido lamented that, “today, Nigerians are so blindfolded on the hates and apparent dislikes of Fulanis because of President Buhari mis-governance, forgetting that not all Fulani’s even voted for him and or like him”. Vanguard News NITDA scoops N12.6m from NDPR audit reports On By Emmanuel Elebeke The National Information Technology Development Agency, (NITDA) says it has made no less than N12.6 million from companies filling the Nigerian Data Protection Regulations (NDPR) audit report forms. The money, according to NITDA Director-General, Mallam Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, was remitted into the government coffers. Abdullahi who made the disclosure while on a courtesy visit to the new permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, Engr Festus Daudu, also claimed that NITDA has built a Nigerian IT industry worth about N2.2 billion and created over 2, 686 jobs. ....
