Nelson continues to be COVID-19 hotspot for Kootenay Boundary

The Heritage City recorded 19 new COVID-19 cases, down from 20 between April 11-17. BCCDC
Nelson continues to be the hotspot for COVID-19 cases in the Kootenay Boundary.
In the weekly update on the B.C. Centre of Disease Control website, the Geographic Distribution of COVID-19 by Local Health Area of Case Residence map shows Nelson topping the count during April 18 to 24 with 19 cases.
The Heritage City had 20 COVID-19 cases the week before and 13 cases between April 4-10.
In the West Kootenay, Trail has 13 cases while Castlegar and Arrow Lakes each have five and Kootenay Lake one. ....

COVID cases down in Interior Health; up slightly in Kamloops, Penticton | iNFOnews

While the number of new COVID-19 cases in the Interior Health region has dropped during the past week, there were slight increases in both Kamloops and Penticton.
Both cities had two more cases in the week of April 18 to 24 than the week before, with Kamloops having 46 cases and Penticton recording 30.
The Central Okanagan dropped to 215 new cases from 242, and Vernon dropped to 36 from 41, according to data released yesterday, April 28, by the B.C. Centre for Disease Control.

The BCCDC Geographic Distribution of COVID-19 by Local Health Area of Case Residence map shows Nelson topping the count for the past week with 20 cases.
According to the BC Centre of Disease Control weekly map detailing cases in specific areas of the province April 11-17 the Heritage City is the hotspot for COVID-19 cases in the Kootenay Boundary.

Bigger cities in Interior Health hit hardest by rising COVID-19 cases | iNFOnews

The Interior Health region has recorded the highest number of new weekly COVID-19 cases this year at 676, up by 215 from the week before.
That’s for the week of April 4 to 10, according to new data posted on the B.C. Centre for Disease Control.
The region’s largest cities are particularly hard hit.
This chart shows the number of new COVID-19 cases recorded in Local Health Areas from April 4 to 10.

The Central Okanagan jumped to 288 new cases versus 214 the week before, Penticton more than doubled to 37 from 16, Vernon almost doubled to 56 from 33 and Summerland jumped to 12 from three. ....
