Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) celebrated its 93rd foundation day virtually on 16
th July, in which a digital platform to facilitate farmers to get ‘right information at right time’ in their desired language was launched.
As part of the celebration, Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar and Union Minister of Electronics & Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnav jointly launched ‘Kisan Sarathi’, a digital platform for farmers.
Tomar also announced awards in various categories and released the publications of ICAR in the presence of Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Parshottam Rupala, Union MoS for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Kailash Choudhary and Ms. Shobha Karandlaje. ....

MoS Kailash Choudhary urges opposition not to mislead farmers over farm laws

Taking on the Opposition, Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Kailash Choudhary on Tuesday said those who are terming the new agri laws as black laws should remember that bringing the legislations was part of their manifesto.
Making an intervention during the motion of thanks on the President s address in Lok Sabha, he said the Opposition should not mislead farmers on these reformist measures.
Farmers got raw deal for the past 70 years as previous governments did nothing for them, Choudhary said.
With regard to contract farming, he said farmers are permitted to decide the rate rather than the contractor. ....

New Delhi, Dec 23 : Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar said on Tuesday that a section of farmers have urged the government not to amend the new farm laws enacted by the Centre.
Two separate delegations of farmers representatives under the banners of Indian Farmers Union and Kisan Sangharsh Samiti met Tomar at Krishi Bhawan and extended their support to the government on new farm laws. Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Kailash Choudhary was also present during the meeting. ....

Govt wants clause by clause talks with farmers on agri bill proposal: Tomar

With farmers firm on their demand about repealing of the three agriculture laws passed by the Centre, their protest entered the 20th day on Tuesday with demonstrations continuing on Sant Nirankari Samagam ground in Burari on the outskirts of Delhi and at various border points.
The protesting farmers on Monday observed a daylong hunger strike against the three new agricultural laws. Union Agriculture Minister Tomar has said that the government will hold further talks and want to hold a discussion with farmers leaders on clause by clause of the farm laws.
They also claimed that more people are expected to join the ongoing agitation at Delhi border points.Ten organisations from various states such as Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Bihar and Haryana associated with All India Kisan Coordination Committee met Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Monday to extend their support on three farm laws enacted by the government recently. ....
