Apr. 24 The downward trend in Idaho s COVID-19 caseload continued on Friday, with the state recording 190 new cases, the lowest daily addition since March 6, according to updated data from the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.
The state s seven-day moving average of new cases fell to 202. A month ago, that average was 302.
The bulk of new cases Friday were added in Ada (61 new, 51,078 total), Canyon (19 new, 26,240 total), Elmore (17 new, 1,952 total) and Kootenai (19 new, 17,603 total) counties. Still, in Ada County, the seven-day moving average fell to 70.6, down from 105.4 on April 12. ....

Apr. 20 Idaho s seven-day moving average for new COVID-19 cases fell to the lowest it s been since late June on Monday, and more than 400,000 Idahoans have been fully vaccinated against the disease.
The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare reported 458 new cases Monday about 152 cases per day for Saturday, Sunday and Monday. (The state no longer provides updates on weekends.) That brought the state s seven-day moving average of probable and confirmed cases down to 219.4, meaning on average over the past week, there were 219 new cases statewide each day. That s the lowest such average since June 29, when it was 214. ....

After a technological error delayed the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare from posting its daily COVID-19 statistics until around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, the state reported a surge of cases, adding 437.
The bulk of new cases were added in Ada (140 new, 50,436 total), Canyon (45 new, 26,015 total), and Kootenai (54 new, 17,430 total) counties.
The state also added six deaths, and recorded one of the largest spikes in hospitalizations to date, with 172 new hospitalizations reported (7,929 total). There were 38 new ICU hospitalizations (1,362 total). ....

Apr. 16 A spike in coronavirus cases on Wednesday proved to be a blip for Idaho.
The Department of Health and Welfare reported only 210 new cases Thursday, just about half the total of the day before, but the state did add nine COVID-19-related deaths. This week saw Idaho reach 2,000 deaths during the pandemic, and the total number now stands at 2,015.
There was good news on the state s positivity rate, with the latest data showing that it dropped to 4.8% for the week of April 4-10. The rate indicates the percentage of COVID-19 tests that come back positive, and health experts target a rate of less than 5% to show good control over coronavirus spread. For the week of March 28-April 3, Idaho s rate had risen to 5.6%, the highest percentage since early February. ....
