Born out of the tradition of devotion, the struggle for survival over the years has reduced them to mere entertainers. Bhubaneswar police arrest accused in 2008 musician murder case | Bhubaneswar News

BHUBANESWAR: Close on the heels of the arrest of the 1999 Baranga gang rape case’s main accused after 22 years last month, the commissionerate police on Sunday arrested a man for alleged involvement in the murder of noted musician Sumant Mohanty in Mancheswar area here in 2008.
Bikram Aditya Jena, the accused, had fled to Pune after allegedly committing the crime on October 9, 2008. The case’s main accused, Manas Ranjan Vedanta, and three others Sushil Samantray, Sushil Jena and Subhakant Jena were arrested on October 11, 2008, and are currently out on bail. The four persons and Bikram had hacked Mohanty to death, stuffed his body in his car’s trunk and abandoned the vehicle near Palasuni canal during the night of October 9. Mancheswar police had found the body the following day. ....
