Police: Tip for sanitation worker stolen in Exeter

EXETER TWP., Pa. - Lurking around the trash cans of Exeter Township, police said, was a real-life Grinch.
Unfortunately, that trash man or whoever provides that service won t get that tip this year, said Sgt. Sean Fullerton, Exeter Township Police Department.
The police said they believe that Grinch stole a Christmas tip that a homeowner generously left for a sanitation worker. An envelope with money taped to the top of an A-J Blosenski trash can was swiped during the day Tuesday in front of a house on Steeple Chase Drive.
This was maybe a small tip meant to go to a hard worker during this COVID-19 Christmas season, said Fullerton. To take a few bucks off of a person who s actually working, trying to provide a service to the rest of the community, it stings a little bit. ....

Police say it has been a while since the state got this much snow. They said it s easy to forget how treacherous it can be and are advising everyone to stay home.
Usually the first snowfall on the roads is pretty hectic as far as crashes goes, said Fullerton. We really want people to slow down, give yourself a huge cushion of safety if you re driving on a snowy roadway. ....

On the eve of a snowstorm long overdue in Pennsylvania, hardware stores were bustling in Berks County as people scrambled to grab the essentials.

Berks County authorities investigating 35-year-old’s death

The death of a 35-year-old man found Monday with a cut to his chest is being investigated as a homicide, Berks County prosecutors said.
Authorities found the man dead in a second-floor bathroom with a “penetrating wound” to his chest around 10:46 p.m. on Hillside Road in Exeter Township, according to the Berks County District Attorney’s Office.
A man and woman who called 911 shortly beforehand said there’d been an accident, the 35-year-old had a cut to his chest and wasn’t breathing, prosecutors said.
The Berks County Coroner’s Office is in the process of notifying his next of kin. An autopsy will be performed at 5 p.m. at Reading Hospital. ....
