A senior Pentagon official has warned of North Korea s weapons and mass destruction and urged American and South Korean forces to prepare for the threat.
Jennifer Walsh, the acting under secretary of defense for policy, said Tuesday, Given the risk that Kim Jong-un could seek to employ WMD in the course of or to stave off a conflict on the Korean Peninsula, [South Korea and the U.S.] must be ready for any number of WMD-related contingencies that require operating in a chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) contaminated environment.
Walsh made the remarks in a statement to a subcommittee of the House Armed Services Committee. She claimed North Korea is continuing its WMD program, which is becoming a bigger threat, and the U.S. is cooperating with South Korea to increase their capability to remove biochemical contaminants. ....
