UofL research findings lead to $1 million grant to combat child trafficking in Kentucky

On Wednesday, Gov. Andy Beshear announced a $1 million federal grant to help the state address key findings of the University of Louisville Human Trafficking Research Initiatives, Project PIVOT (Prevention and Intervention for Victims of Trafficking).
The two-year research project, which concluded in April, examined nearly 700 child trafficking cases in Kentucky that were reported to the Department of Community Based Services from 2013 to 2018. One of the shocking findings is that 90% of the cases involved a child in the state’s welfare system.Sign up for our Newsletters ....
