Feds: Sex offender who failed to register in CT gets 2 years in prison

A sex offender who failed to register his status when he moved from Alamba to Connecticut was sentenced to two years in prison for the offense, federal prosecutors said.
Yamil Diaz, 48, was sentenced Monday by Judge Jeffrey Meyer in New Haven to 24 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, the U.S. Attorney’s office said.
Diaz pleaded guilty to failing to register as a sex offender on Sept. 4, 2020. ....
