Tyler Titus Announces Their Bid for Erie County Executive
Erie School Board President launches campaign for top county spot

On Wednesday, Feb. 10, Tyler Titus formally announced their bid for Erie County Executive. Titus (who uses they/them/their pronouns) currently serves as Erie School Board President.
In 2017, Titus made history by becoming the first openly transgender person to be elected to office in Pennsylvania.
On Dec. 15, County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper announced that she would not be running for reelection in 2021.
Titus is the founder and CEO of Compton s Table, an organization for queer youth. They currently serve as Vice-Chair of the PA Commission of LGBTQ Affairs, as well as serving on the advisory council for the Greater Erie Alliance for Equality (GEAE). They are a Jefferson Educational Society Civic Leadership Academy scholar and a 2017 40 Under ....

In honor of Black History Month, we, the Assistant Town Historians, wanted to show you, our readers the stories of Greenburgh’s first African-American police officers. We would like to examine the lives of the: first black officer in Greenburgh, first black ranking officer in Greenburgh, and the first Community Relations Officer.

Detective Henry Heath:
Detective Henry Heath was Greenburgh’s first ever African-American police officer. He was appointed to Police Officer on February 1, 1950 and promoted to Detective February 8, 1961 (Personal Communication from Police Chief Chris McNerney).

HARRISBURG, Pa. The chancellor of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education told the Board of Governors in a quarterly meeting Thursday that momentum is building toward the integration of multiple universities in the system as a means of expanding student opportunities, the PSSHE said in a press release. ....
