Happy Traum, Woodstock’s own folk music legend, was smitten by American folk music as a teenager and began playing guitar and 5-string banjo. He was an active participant of the legendary Washington Square/Greenwich Village folk scene of the 1950s and ‘60s, and studied guitar with the famed blues master, Brownie Mcghee. ....

Johnstown Public Library reopens to public | News, Sports, Jobs

JOHNSTOWN The Johnstown Public Library is open to the public again, library officials announced last week.
Patrons can come into the 38 S. Market St. building to browse and check out materials.
“We continue to offer curbside pickup for our patrons,” the library states in its latest email to patrons.
For information about digital programming or for assistance with online services, the public is asked to contact rweatherby@mvls.info or message the library’s Facebook page. For additional inquires, the public can contact: joh-director@mvls.info or call the library at (518) 762-8317.
Library officials said this year’s annual basket raffle on April 26 will be entirely virtual. Baskets must be viewed online, and tickets can be purchased at the library. The drawing will be livestreamed on April 26. Those preferring to purchase their tickets with cash can do so by putting it in an envelope with your name, phone number, and the number(s ....
