If you want to make the central Oklahoma art rounds in one night, add Thursday evening to your calendar, starting in Edmond. Even if you can’t fit everything in one night, you’ll have other opportunities to enjoy our arts community.
Downtown Edmond is hosting VIBES each Thursday from now through October, featuring artists, performers and businesses celebrating the community from 5 to 9 p.m. This month’s special attraction will be Sidewalk Chalk Art Night by Matin Alavi, Chandler Domingos, Elisha Gallegos, Annie Lovett, Nicole Poole and Sara presented by Oklahoma ER & Hospital. Florida has had to establish a resilient power system with underground lines to ensure that customers retain power despite hurricanes and tropical storms. Now Oklahoma City is considering the switch.

(TNS) Hurricanes and tropical storms are major headaches for Florida utility providers, but even garden-variety severe thunderstorms create issues, especially in overgrown areas.
But Hurricane Wilma, in 2005, prompted utility providers to seek approval for large-scale resiliency upgrades to systems.
For example, Florida Power & Light (FPL) spent $5 billion in the last 15 years on projects to strengthen its grid. Work included hardening main power lines that serve police and fire stations, hospitals and 911 centers. ....
