State Representative Steve Xiarhos (R–Barnstable) has filed legislation to protect small businesses from state taxation that would dilute economic stimulus benefits they received from the federal government during the pandemic.
Under the 2020 Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, Congress directed the US Small Business Administration to guarantee billions of dollars worth of targeted loans to small businesses nationwide.
