Hampton tax defier guilty of filing false liens


ATLANTA — A federal jury has found Hampton resident Hakim Amal Archible guilty on three counts of filing or attempting to file false liens against federal officials and one count of obstructing or impeding the administration of the Internal Revenue Service.
“In this case, the defendant filed false liens against current and former public officials to bully and harass them,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Kurt R. Erskine. “Archible learned that our office will vigorously pursue individuals who improperly weaponize the lien system in Georgia.”
“TIGTA’s statutory mission includes investigating individuals who are alleged to pose a threat to IRS employees engaged in the lawful collection of taxes,” said J. Russell George, the Treasury inspector general for Tax Administration. “Attempts to intimidate or retaliate against IRS employees engaged in the performance of their official duties will be aggressively pursued. Atlanta, Georgia - Two leaders of the national gang the Gangster Disciples were sentenced for a racketeering conspiracy involving murder.
Shauntay Craig, aka Shake, 42, of Birmingham, Alabama, was sentenced to 40 years in prison. Craig pleaded guilty in August 2019 to racketeering conspiracy involving murder and drug trafficking.
Donald Glass, aka Smurf, 30, of Decatur, Georgia, was sentenced to life plus 120 months in prison. Glass was convicted by a federal jury in May 2019 of racketeering conspiracy involving murder, discharging a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, causing death through the use of a firearm for the murder of Robert Dixon, and other firearms crimes. ....
