Two people are behind bars in connection with the shooting of an immigrant at a stash house in central Laredo, according to a criminal complaint filed on March 1.
The case unfolded at about 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 25, when U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Corpus Christi Station detained 24 immigrants from an eastbound Kansas City Southern train near Agua Dulce, Texas. One immigrant was identified as Noe Perez-Ixtupe. He had a bandage on his left arm.
Asked about what happened, Perez-Ixtupe stated that he was shot in the arm at a stash house in Laredo. He was able to provide GPS coordinates, and authorities located the home in the 1600 block of San Jorge Avenue. Agents in Laredo set up surveillance at the location. ....

Laredo Police Departmetn showcased their new patrol unit before a City Council Meeting at the City Hall parking lot. Starting Friday, Laredo police officers will launch an operation targeting drunk drivers.
LPD will be working on an impaired driver mobilization grant funded by the Texas Department of Transportation. Officers will work overtime to enforce driving while intoxicated laws.
Officers will be tasked with identifying and arresting intoxicated drivers from March 5-21. LPD’s push to deter drunk driving coincides with state and other local law enforcement agencies statewide. ....
