Drive-by shooting in Adams County Monday injures 1


Pecos Street was closed Monday night while police conducted their investigation.

ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. The Adams County Sheriff s Office (ACSO) is investigating Monday night s drive-by shooting as a homicide.
Deputies are looking for a suspect accused of shooting a man in the 7600 block of Pecos Street around 8:30 p.m. That is near the Pecos Street exit off US 36 just east of Westminster in Adams County.
The man was shot in the chest and taken
 to the hospital in critical condition and later died from his injuries, according to the sheriff s office.
ACSO said they don t have a good description of the suspect or the vehicle they were in, only that they were described as driving a white or silver full-sized truck.  ....

A black bear was killed in Norman, Oklahoma, after it wandered into a family s backyard and climbed up a tree on late Wednesday night.
According to the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation, the bear was seen in the backyard of a home near Elmwood Street and Pickard Avenue. Around midnight, the department received a call from the Oklahoma City Police Department notifying wildlife officials their assistance was needed.
Officials said they spent hours to trap the bear, hoping to tranquilize and move it to a safe location. ....

A Portland business owner who feared that an employee would commit a workplace shooting called the FBI last month after receiving an anonymous tip suggesting that the worker was part of a white nationalist group and that he was preparing for the collapse of society by buying guns and survival gear.
Now the former employee, Andrew Hazelton, 28, is facing a federal criminal charge of possessing child pornography, a case that appears to be an unintended result of the employer’s report and the investigation that followed. Investigators don t believe there are any outstanding suspects after two people were found dead near Brown and Ellsworth.
MESA, Ariz. - Police say just before 8:00 p.m. on April 14, a woman called 911, saying she was injured and needed help.
When officers arrived at the scene near Brown and Ellsworth roads, they found the woman with a serious eye injury. She was transported to an area hospital.
Inside the home, officers discovered the bodies of and adult man and a child. Two dogs were also found deceased, said Irene Mahoney of the Mesa Police Department. ....
