Museum of Coastal Carolina events: Magic, Titanic, Holocaust Love Story


Ahoy Matey want to see some magic, hear about a woman s great-uncle s experience on the Titanic, or find out all about a Holocaust Love Story. You can enjoy all these exciting programs presented by the Museum of Coastal Carolina, Tuesdays in July at 6 p.m.

• July 6 - Michael Rosander founder of No Sleeves Magic and his acting troupe will present the production of Pirates Have Problems magic show at 6 p.m. The free show will held outside at the Town Center Park stage, 11 E. Second St. (next to the museum).  In case of rain, the program will be moved inside the museum and seating will be limited. Rodney Trice Returns to CHCCS as New Chief Equity and Engagement Officer
The Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools is welcoming back a former staff member to play a new, key role for the district.
At its meeting Thursday night, the CHCCS school board approved Dr. Rodney Trice as its new Chief Equity & Engagement Officer. Trice, who worked with the district for eight years, is currently the Assistant Superintendent of Equity Affairs with the Wake County Public School System.
“We are very fortunate to bring Dr. Trice home to CHCCS,” said Superintendent Dr. Nyah Hamlett in a release Thursday night. “His experience, expertise, relationships and connection to the community make him uniquely qualified for the hard work ahead.” ....

I did a “deep dive” into some Google searching this morning to find out more about the Board of Directors of Mark Robinson’s new Carolina Teachers Alliance. To be an organization for educators, it seems to mostly consist of folks who are conservative activists.
Here’s a rundown of what I found - others could likely figure out more, particularly with their connections to other “dark money” conservative and evangelical groups around the state.
