EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Law enforcement was on scene of a barricaded subject in Vanderburgh County on Wednesday night.
Evansville Central Dispatch confirmed the situation started as a domestic situation.
Our 14 News crew on scene says one person came out of the house with their hands up.
Our crew also say they heard someone yelling from inside the house.
They have since confirmed with authorities that the barricaded subject is now in custody. ....

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - As Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine could be approved for ages 12-15 as early as next week, officials at Ascension St. Vincent Evansville say the best way for people in that age group to get the shot would be to go to their vaccine clinic, and not the pediatrician.
Dr. Heidi Dunniway, chief medical officer of the southern region for Ascension St. Vincent said because of the way Pfizer’s vaccine is stored, the shot isn’t widely available at pediatricians. ....

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Construction is just around the corner on a new phase of home development in Tepe Park.
Officials say that Phase 7 of the Memorial Villas project will allow 10 families to build a home in the neighborhood. It’s part of the Memorial Community Development Corporation’s plan to build 50 new homes in Evansville.
The first of those new houses is being built on South Bedford Avenue. Officials says construction for the house will take about three to four months to finish. ....

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - For the first time in her University of Evansville career, Izzy Vetter threw a no-hitter to spearhead a dominant 11-1 victory over Bradley to clinch the weekend sweep on Sunday at Cooper Stadium.
Vetter had a masterful effort for the Purple Aces (23-19, 11-12 MVC), striking out five Braves (17-20, 10-14 MVC) batters while allowing one run and two walks.  UE’s offense erupted for 11 runs in the 5-inning win, led by Alyssa Barela, who hit a 3-run home run.  Eryn Gould registered her 11th long ball of the season to lead off the game.  Jessica Fehr had another multi-hit day, going 2-3 with a pair of RBI.  Hannah Hood also had two runs batted in. ....

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The city of Evansville will open a mobile vaccine clinic in a METS bus this week.
That will be on a Wednesday at Hartke Pool from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., during a Feed Evansville Community Food Share event.
Anyone 16 and older can get their COVID-19 vaccine.
Officials say you don’t have to pre-register in order to get your shot, but those going will need to get their second dose. ....
