Man taken to hospital after being shot in Eskasoni, N.S.; police investigating

The CEO of Crane Cove Seafoods in Eskasoni, N.S., is recovering Monday night after being shot in his home.
RCMP say at approximately 10:25 p.m. on Sunday, officers responded to a report of a shooting at a home in Eskasoni.
Police say a 53-year-old man was shot through the window of the home. He was injured and transported to hospital.
Leonard Denny who has been identified by Chief Leroy Denny had surgery Monday morning and is recovering from his injuries.
He called me to aid his situation, said Chief Leroy Denny of Eskasoni First Nation. He told me he was shot. ....

Nova Scotia reports 2 new cases of COVID-19 Saturday
Currently, there are 46 cases of the virus in the province

As of today, Dec. 19, Nova Scotia has 46 active cases of COVID-19. Two new cases are being reported today.
One new case is in Western Zone and the other is in Eastern Zone. Both cases are related to travel outside of Atlantic Canada. The people are self-isolating, as required.
As confirmed publicly by Eskasoni Chief Leroy Denny, the case in Eastern Zone is in the Eskasoni First Nation community. Public health continues to work closely with Chief Denny to manage the case. Contact tracing is underway and at this point, there is no evidence of community spread. ....
