A Mountain View-based doctor is facing sexual battery charges after one of his former patients told police he made aggressive advances toward her. The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety arrested Todd Yao, 50, July 8, according to a department press release. He is an urgent care doctor for Sutter Healthâs Mountain View branch, located at 701 E. El Camino Real. The patient told police officers she received treatment from Yao in November, and he befriended her afterward, the release stated. In the months that followed, she said, Yao made romantic advances toward her, which she rejected. On at least three occasions, he allegedly forced himself on her, pushed her down and kissed her lips. ....

Winslow Mountain View Police Department officers have charged a transient woman with a slew of crimes following allegations she stole items from a downtown store and told her victims she didn’t have to pay for the items because they are Asian. Inman Officers with a warrant arrested Karen Inman, 39, Friday (March 5) on suspicion of petty theft, robbery and violation of civil rights by force or threat, a department press release stated. They booked her into the Santa Clara County Main Jail. “This case is both disheartening and disturbing,” said Police Chief Chris Hsiung, according to the release. “Mountain View is a vibrant community in many ways thanks to the diversity that exists here. Hate crimes have not and will not be tolerated in Mountain View and as this case demonstrates, we take these crimes seriously and will investigate them to the fullest extent.” ....
