HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - It has now been more than nine months since someone vandalized two Huntsville synagogues with swastikas and other anti-Semitic messages.
Etz Chayim Synagogue and the Chabad of Huntsville were vandalized on the first and second nights of Passover, respectively, in April of 2020.
Stephen Listfield is the rabbi at Etz Chayim, he said he’s happy to hear about the reward and hopes it convinces someone to tell the truth. ....

Authorities offer reward in locating person of interest in vandalism of Huntsville synagogues

HUNTSVILLE Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Johnnie Sharp, Jr., and Huntsville Police Chief Mark McMurray today announced rewards totaling $18,000 for information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the individual responsible for the vandalizations of the Etz Chayim Synagogue on April 9, 2020, and the Chabad of Huntsville on April 10, 2020.
The announcement was made at a press conference held at Huntsville Police Headquarters Thursday afternoon.
The FBI is providing a $15,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the individual responsible.
Huntsville Area Crime Stoppers is offering a separate reward of $1,000, and the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) is offering a separate reward of $2,000. ....

UPDATE: A big reward just got even bigger.
The Huntsville Police Department and FBI announced an updated $20,000 combined reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect responsible for vandalism of a Jewish Synagogue Chabad House in Huntsville.
The FBI is offering up to $15,000 in reward money, the Anti-Defamation League put up $2,000, Huntsville Area Crime Stoppers is offering $1,000, and the latest addition comes from an anonymous community member who is offering $2,000. ....

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) – Nearly $20,000 in reward money is being offered for information about vandalism last year on a Huntsville synagogue and Jewish center that were painted with anti-Semitic graffiti. Police hope the money will lead to arrests in the attacks on Etz Chayim Synagogue and Chabad which were vandalized on back-to-back nights in April. Huntsville Police Chief Mark McMurray says investigators have a person of interest. Surveillance camera footage has investigators looking for someone who walked with a limp and appeared to have a prosthetic left leg. They say the person may have been driving a light-colored, older Toyota Prius. ....
